Day 1 Arrive Cochin
Arrive at Cochin airport - meet & greet by our representative of Recreation Travels with special welcome.
Cochin – Capital oasis state of Kerala & on to the Malabar Coats & Kochi, one of the India’s most colorful cities, the Dutch palace built by the Portuguese in 1557 and renovated by the Dutch from 1663 with its beautiful murals and Jew town including the antique warehouses and shops, spices trading house and the Jewish synagogue built in 1568, the oldest in the commonwealth. This inter, connected series of Islands & shoreline presents a vivacious blend of Cultures & Religions; Kochi is the only place in the country where you can see Portuguese Churches, a Jewish Synagogue, Hindu Temples, Dutch Architecture & Mosque nearly side by side.
This evening we attend the performance of the Kathakali, one of India’s most famous Classical dances. Overnight stay
Day 02 Kochi – Munnar 130 kms / 3 hrs
After breakfast drive to Munnar upon arrival check in hotel. Munnar – is situated at the confluence of three mountains streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni & Kundala. Later visit to Mattupetty – 13 kms away from Munnar, situated at a height of 1700m. It is famous for its highly specialized Dairy Farm – the indo Swiss livestock project. Over a hundred varities of high yielding cattles are reared here. Visitor is allowed to 3 of the 11 cattle shades at the farm. The Mattupetty lake & dam just a short distance from the farm, is a very beautiful picnic spot. This sprawling Kundala tea plantations and the Kundala Lake are the other attraction in the vicinity. Day 03 Munnar – Periyar 110 kms / 3 hrs
Drive to a tranquil hill retreat of Periyar upon arrival check in hotel. Evening enjoy Safari Cruise with best trained guide in Periyar Game Sanctuary– the best way to see & enjoy the Wildlife Activities, Cruise in the Periyar Lake in the cool surroundings and the panorama spreads around tropical jungles, Wild elephants & birds of myriad varieties. With an area of 777 sq kms in the hills of Western Ghats amongst the animals are wild elephants which can be seen and photographed at close quarters. wild boar, Sambar, Tiger, Leopard, Wild Dog and langur monkey. Day 04 Periyar – Alleppey 164 kms/ 4 hrs
After breakfast drive to Alleppey to meet your way own floating hotel. Cruise the backwaters & explore the rural life in & around Alleppey to Kumarakom. The fully furnished and palm covered boats (single & double) bedrooms with attached bath, sit out, kitchen and living room made of traditional wood. In each houseboat, there are 3 men staff (crew), comprising a cook and two well trained punters throughout the cruise. Punters stand on each end of the boat for punting and directing the boat. Kerosene-lit lamps along will be available for light and mosquito nets will be provided. Traditional vegetarian and non-vegetarian Kerala cuisines are served. A journey through the backwaters of Kerala which offer one of the world’s truly unforgettable experiences, myriad network of silent lagoons, freshwater river, and hyacinth covered canals that wind their way through colorful corridors of forests, palms and fruit trees. A canoe expedition via an intricate network of canals, through backwater villages where daily continues unaltered, as it has for centuries. You will see lusch palm groves and stretches of rice fields. Overnight stay
Day 05 Alleppey – Marari Beach 15 kms
Today drive to Marari Beach –is the most fabulous stretch of soft & sandy beach fringed with palm an idyllic retreat for those who want to "get away from it all".
Marari originates from "Mararikulam", one of the local fishing villages, where life still goes on much as it did a hundred years ago, with the man going out to see each day to earn a living bringing in the daily catch. Marari offers endless miles of superb sand and beaches backed by swaying palms, virgin territory where you can experience the local charm & traditional Keralan Hospitality at its best. Not that you need to spend the whole of your holiday in seclusion, you couldn't be in a better location for exploring the marvelous backwater, where the tranquility, the stunning scenery & the feeling of being transported back in time, make it a superb relaxing & inspiring experience. For a more update day, a visit to Cochin is must. Being one of the most important trade centers on the "Spice Coast" this is the place to do a spot of Shopping & who knows you could actually find a genius antique in one of the many shops in Jew Town. Day 06 Marari – Cochin 60 kms / 1 hrs – Onward Destination
After breakfast drive to Cochin Say Goodbye to God’s own country newly become friends of this fascinating land and transfer to Airport to board the flight for onward destination
